Thanks community!Ĭonsole versions will most likely not get an update, unfortunately. That’s where our amazing, supportive community comes in! The support and feedback we have received from Day #1 of the Beta test has been instrumental to the progress of the netcode. We just had to get the tuning of it right. #Kof xiii ps3 Pc#I would describe it as a very typical input delay method, with a few extra bells and whistles to handle PC performance issues. ![]() However, there isn’t that much to it, it’s still input delay based. JV: The approach of the netcode in KOF XIII SE is a completely different input delay method than what was originally used. How did you improve the performance of the netcode for the PC release and will the console versions get an update? One of the features in The King of Fighters XIII Steam Edition is improved netcode. Then as the end drew near, we had an extra programmer, Jim Bulmer, join me on the programming team to help wrap it up, and a few others joined to help out in other departments too (translation / localization, marketing, etc.). Jason Varlet, Lead Programmer: I spent months implementing most of the features – all the while working with our internal Producer. That said, we needed to get the right development team and infrastructure in place.Ĭan you tell us about the team that handled the port? I'm "grimm_shado".Īlso I don't know how good controller support is for this. Also it's only $25 if you buy it before tomorrow's release, but I'm sure it'll go down to like $10 - $15 during the next Steam sale. I'd say it's worth buying the PC version due to the online being decent (let's hope I don't eat my words), and it being a slightly newer, re-balanced version of the game. I think I got my asshole smashed by a developer just a moment ago, which was interesting. There seem to be some pretty decent people online too (although the player pool seems to be pretty small). Anything lower is a completely different, totally shit experience, with a half second of input latency, or more. If you get an opponent with 3 - 4 "cell phone bars" of ping, then it should feel pretty close to local play, or at least as good as say SSFIV. I've had more good experiences playing online than I've had bad so far (as hard as that may be to believe). ![]()
